In this career, microbiologist study the characteristics, growth and how microbes help create vitamins, antibiotics and sugars.

 

There are also medical microbiologist who studies the relations between microbes and humans/animals. They spend most of there time figuring out how these microbes can help the human body in a positive way by

understanding how they make the body to function normally.

 

They also study certain kind of diseases that is caused by Microbes. In this career, they make reports after every research. Researches on how microbes possibly create foods and drugs.

Microbiologist

Working Condition

For this career, the work hours are between 40-50 hours depending on the position specifically in Microbiologist. 

 

They work with hazards all the time, use different type of equipments such as microscopes, computers and other high tech equipment.

 

Most of the time working indoors, doing research and sometimes outdoors doing field research as well.

 

You can work for universities, colleges, private business companies, organization, research lab or in the government.

 

 

Earnings

A Microbiologist salary is around $30,000 to $100,000 a year. 

 

If you stay longer in school to learn more in depth about this career path than average Microbiologists, you will earn more. Seniors salary are more than $200,000 a year.

Education

The level of education required is to go into University. 

A degree that is needed in Microbiology is a Bachelor's.

A Master degree for research position.
